Conference Venue

The 6th World Congress on Prevention of Diabetes and its Complications will be held in Dresden at the International Congress Center Dresden located in the city centre.

The new International Congress Center is located at the River Elbe with a spectacular view to the historical city of Dresden, next to the historical city centre and near to most of the hotels. It works in close cooperation with its direct neighbour – the newly-reconstructed Maritim Hotel in the premises of the old Erlwein storehouse.
The modern congress venue offers very modern facilities and stages for artists and cultural performances including an outside terrace of more than 3000 square metres in size from where visitors have a magnifi cant view to the illuminated historical city centre, the International Congres Center Dresden can host up to 3000 participants, at the welcome reception of the congress.
On three levels with more than 20 different rooms and a capacity of 4000 participants the International Congress Center Dresden is offering a flexible and efficient modality for the WCPD. In addition to the main lecture hall, there are 6 conference rooms for up to 270 people, 9 seminar rooms for up to 90 participants, director‘s and interpreter‘s booths, a business centre and conference offices (see overview page 8-9).Visitors will also find equipment for registration and about 5.000 m² space for exhibitions. Various lecture halls, as well as breakout rooms are guaranteeing an ideal and highly interactive meeting atmosphere. All lecture halls and seminar rooms are equipped with ultra modern technical facilities.
