Tour 1: April 08, 2010 | 09:30 – 12:30 cost: EUR 17,00 per person - minimum 15 persons* A guided walking tour through the pedestrian area of the historical city centre of Dresden is a “must” for visitors. In a three hour tour you will get an over- view of the most famous sights of Dresden, such as the Residence Castle, the Semper Opera House, the Zwinger and the Church of our Lady. Good walking shoes and an ability to walk on uneven pavement are recommended. |
Tour 5: April 09, 2010 | 09:30 –12:00 cost: EUR 25,00 per person - minimum 15 persons* The “Old masters” Gallery located in the splendid Baroque Zwinger with the world-famous ”Sixtine Madonna” by Raffael is one of the best known painting galleries in Europe. The art collection offers such a variety of objects that everyone will enjoy the visit. The guide will explain several of the world-famous paintings as well as some interesting pounts of the splendid Zwinger area. |
Tour 7: April 10, 2010 | 13:00 – 16:00 cost: EUR 35,00 per person - minimum 20 persons* A sightseeing tour outside of the city centre will lead you to the gorgeous Elbe castles located beautifully on the hillside of the Elbe bend. The indescribable ambience of the unique, late-classicist castles, embedded in vineyards above the River Elbe that provides a breath-taking panorama view across the city of Dresden, will make an everlasting impression. The bus will bring you to the Blue Wonder Bridge and Dresden's most favourite residential areas, called Loschwitz with its scenic beauty and magnificent view of the Elbe valley. Körnerplatz is the starting point for a funicular and a cable railway. In the cable railway you reach a viewing platform where you will have a magnificent view over the City. Last but not least we visit Pfund´s Dairy, another unique place in Dresden and the most beautiful dairy in the world! See the magnificent interior decoration with fantastic tile paintings and taste the unique choice of selected cheese. |
Tour 9: April 11, 2010 | 09:30 – 13:00 cost: EUR 39,00 per person - minimum 20 persons* Take a coach trip and enjoy the beautiful view on your tour to Pillnitz. Visit the Park of Pillnitz Palace, a former summer residence of the famous Saxon King August the Strong. You will be impressed by the beautiful location, the gardens and the architecture of the palace built in a Chinese style. The return journey to Dresden will be by steamboat. A ride on the Elbe river is a special experience. Dresden is the home of the largest and oldest steamboat fleet in the world. You will pass by the three Elbe palaces and the famous “Blue Wonder” bridge. Lunch will be by on everyones own expenses. It is possible to purchase refreshments and snacks on the steamer. |
Tour 10: April 09, 2010 | 08:30 – 16:30 cost: EUR 72,00 per person - minimum 20 persons* A trip by coach to the 1000 year old charming town of Meissen, includes a narrated visit of the well-known Meissen Porcelain factory built in the 18th century. In the factory not only the production process of the”White Gold” will be shown, but you will also see the impressive collection of exceptional porcelain masterpieces. There will be an opportunity to make purchases at the factory shop. A guided tour through the historical city will bring you to the late gothic Albrechtsburg Castle in Meissen and to the Cathedral on the citadel hill of Meissen, typical of sacred buildings of the Mid-Gothic age, although its steeples are from the beginning of this century. On our way back to Dresden we will stop at the hunting lodge Moritzburg. The Castle is situated on a small island in a lake. It was originally built as a hunting lodge for the duke of Saxony in 1546 but was renovated in the baroque style in 1730. Lunch will be on everyones own expenses (60 minute Lunch break in Meissen). Much of this tour is in the pedestrian area of the old city and requires the ability to climb steep slopes and steps. Good walking shoes and an ability to walk on uneven pavement are recommended. |
Tour 11: April 10, 2010 | 08:30 – 16:30 cost: EUR 65,00 per person - minimum 20 persons* Take a coach trip to the beautiful Elbe sandstone massif known as Swiss Saxony. A trip to the Saxon Switzerland is an experience of a different kind. We will drive by coach to the small town Wehlen. From here we go to the Bastei (about 1.5 hour hiking or by bus in bad weather). A stunning view across the valley of the river Elbe will surprise you. The “Bastei Bridge” from 1851 crosses the ravine between the rocks, giving a magnificent view of the sand stone rocks, such as “Lilienstein” and “Königstein”. Afterwards we will drive to the Fortress Königstein which is a unique example of the art of European fortress construction. A guided tour is arranged to show you the 750 years' history and the impressive configuration of architecture. Enjoy the spectacular views of the jagged rocks and the Elbe river gorge. Lunch will be on on everyones own expenses at Bastei. |
